Filled with Words

Filled with Words

Filled with Words

My Life had stood--a Journal Vacant--

On Dusty Shelf--till an evening

The Leather stroked--Binding cracked--

The Ink began to flow

~

And now I live in pocket--

And now I am always at hand--

And every time the words fall upon me--

The thought memorialized--

~

And do I keep, such secrets silent

Upon my leafy pages--

It is as Pandora's trove

Has been unleashed

~

And when at Dusk--Our good Day writ--

I guard My Penman's Head--

'Tis worse to forget a

Remarkable Thought--than to immortalize the drab

~

To friend of His--I know the truth--

None fathom the magnitude--

On whom I lay a vicious word--

Or a taste of slander--

~

Though I than He--may offer more

His brain decay--then I--

For I have the power to whisper

Without the power to speak
